Water colour signed C.L.
This painting has been reframed with a new passerpartout and acid free material on both front and back, the wooden mahogny frame is however kept as it is and is supposed being from the 1880ths.
Provenance: earlier owner, painting comes from fine home in Falun.

About Carl Larssons monogram signings the one with a little hook on the C and also the whole of the monogram in a circle is probably the most known and published one in several literatures about Carl Larsson and that is why we here give three examples of other of Carl Larssons known artwork from 1881 and 1884 that is signed with the same monogram signature which also is supposed to correspond in time with this water colour: 1. The art work is a title page illustration called Titelvignett (Title vignett) published in 1881 by the famous Swedish publisher Albert Bonnier and the books name is: From our world of art, paintings and sculptures by Swedish artists and Finnish, (artists from Finland) artists in our times by Karl Warburg, librarian in the Gothenburg museum.
2. Anna Maria Lenngren, Stockholm Adolf Bonnier, Kings Court & univerity book seller, 1890 de luxe edition printed by Gernandts LTD printing company. 
In this book 133 illustrations are made by Carl Larsson and you can see the same type of monogram signature CL in many of the illustrations of which we mention two water colours, one on page XV, (15) in the water colour Anna Maria Lenngrens grave Klara church yard in Stockholm, 1884 and also on page 18 in the illustration with the name church yard.
A later example with the same type of signing C.L is the famous painting named potato picking from 1905.
A record price at auction on Carl Larsson water colours is noted from the year 2007 when a previously unsold water colour from 1916 portraying Lisbeth was sold for 975.151 USD by the fine art seller Bukowskis in Stockholm, Sweden.
