The artist Carl Oscar Borg (1879-1947) a Swedish- American artist who is represented at a large number of american ARt museums and galleries.
He was a member in The National Academy of Design and The National Academy of Arts, The societe Internationale des Baux Arts (Paris) and the prestigueous Salmagundi Club, (The oldest artists society in the United States.)
Education in Paris, London and later teached at Califonia Art Institute in Los Angeles.
He returned to Sweden in 1934 and 1938 and were in Sweden during the second world war.
Borg is reknown for his paintings of indians and motives from Northern Africa and he was married to the wealthy Phoebe Hearst mother of William Randolph Hearst.
